Kermit Books

Over the years various Kermit books and manuals have been published in many editions. Most of them are now out of print. CLICK HERE to see our former manuals page; CLICK HERE to see a Kermit bibliography.

The only book that's still current (although perhaps somewhat dated) is...

Using C-Kermit

Using C-Kermit, 2nd edition, is still recommended for serious users of C-Kermit (for Unix and VMS) and of Kermit 95 (for Microsoft Windows) (casual users can find online tutorials HERE and HERE). The book explains all the basics of Kermit's operation and command language, including the syntax of the block structured scripting language that was introduced with C-Kermit 6.0 and is the form still used today. It's full of tables, tutorials, and all sorts of reference material, plus an extensive index. There will be a new edition at some point but I can't say exactly when. To order the book, it's usually best to go to one of the commercial suppliers, many of them have better prices and more payment options.
