sredird: RFC 2217 Telnet serial port redirector

Sredird is a serial port redirector that is compliant with the RFC 2217
"Telnet Com Port Control Option" protocol. This protocol lets you share a
serial port through the network.

Sredird was written originally by Denis Sbragion (InfoTecna)
and Jeffrey Altman (The Kermit Project, Columbia University) and was
distributed by the Kermit Project. After July 2003, it took on a life of
its own, and now can be found at a number of repositories, of which the
most up-to-date (as of this writing, 1 Aug 2004) is Debian:

  http://packages.debian.org/unstable/source/sredird source
  http://packages.debian.org/unstable/comm/sredird binaries

A copy of sredird version 2.2.1-1 (31 Jul 2004) is retained here for
convenience:

  sredird_2.2.1-1.tar.gz

but you should check Debian, Freshmeat, Gnu.Org, etc, to see if there is
something newer.

For posterity, a copy of sredird 2.2.0 remains available in the 'old'
subdirectory.

Another implementation of the same protocol has been done by Thomas Pinkl,
called telnetcpcd; you can find it at SourceForge, e.g.:

  http://sourceforge.net/projects/telnetcpcd/

A copy of version 1.09 has been placed in this directory for convenience as:

  telnetcpcd-1.09.tar.gz
